Anyone else having issues logging into new grounds?

Posted by TVisDaddy - 4 hours ago

I’m unsure if I’m overthinking but on both my laptop and my phone I’m unable to access newgrounds.

I’m currently using data on my phone and that’s currently the only way I can use newgrounds.

my brain is making me overthink this and I feel like I somehow did something wrong? Idk but is anyone else having this issue? Each time I try to use the site without data I get an error message saying the server IP can’t be found or that theirs a typo in the search.

I hope this is like, just some bug or issue with my laptop that will go away soon aaaaaa

I just logged in less than a minute ago and experienced no delays or other issues.
There have been multiple maintenance sessions recently. Maybe your login coincided with "Hey Tom, can you hold this toasty harddrive for a minute, please?" ;)

Haha, probably. I’m still having issues sadly but I’m able to get in through my laptop again :) phone still needs me to disconnect for my wifi and use data tho.

Starting to think it might be an issue on my end honestly, I used shared wifi and the others in my building seem to be having the same issues but with other websites? My next door neighbour had the same log in issue as me but with YouTube, couldn’t get on the site unless we switched to his data and saying the same “can’t find server IP/Typo in weblink” stuff. So yeaj probably a mix of both. 🤠

Ngl I thought I somehow got IP banned 😭

that just happened to me to, don't know what that's about... but it's fine now so idrc

Yeah, it’s somewhat working for me now on my laptop, still having issues on my phone but that doesn’t really matter lol.

@TVisDaddy I think it is technically possible to end up with the same IP as another person - it's usually just not statistically relevant.

What you 'could' do, and what will fix a whole lot of problems in short time, would be to pull your router's power plug for 2 minutes.
Optionally, if it feels hot to the touch, _gently_and_safely_ rotate it so the side with the most air holes points upwards and fan it a little with your hand - or a fan. This might also be a good opportunity to blow the dust out. ;)
Just be careful to not drop it and pay close attention where any cables you disconnected are supposed to go. (Ideally, you should label the ports and cables with labeled stickers.)

I’ll talk to my landlord today about that! He’s lives in the apartment building with the router and is sadly also having issues, next task of the day for me teehee.

Thank you, Yatsufusa!!!

@TVisDaddy If multiple households are pressing their internet traffic through one and the same router, that also invites problems...

Also... I would not feel safe having my entire online communication go through a device my landlord had administrative access to, unless they were _very_ cool.
